Fo' reals! Yeah, fo' reals! (insert keywords here to attract more potential customers and take their money)

Man, I am real tired of the so called experts of social media and SEO.  You want to be successful in either, do what you need to do in all of life to achieve genuine success:  be yourself, be professional, be human, genuinely care about people, be real, realize its not a zero sum game, etc.  The snake oil salesmen of social media and SEO "success" will try to sell you the next greatest solution.  Avoid them like the plague.  You don't need their "advice" (aka Product/service they are actually trying to sell you)  You already know what to do.  Provide a real service that people really need and share it online to people who really need or want to know about it.  No tricks.  No slight of hand (or slight of tweet, as it were)  Don't sell your soul like so many corporate hacks for the almighty dollar, because it is all too obvious.  Sure, you can make a ton of money from unwitting consumers, but at the end of the day, you have to look in the mirror and if you're honest with yourself (easy not to be) you will know if you're stoking customers basal desires just empty their pockets and excusing it with, "I'm just giving them what they want" or if you are in fact providing (or communicating the opportunity for) a commercial exchange that is mutually beneficial.  There's nothing new under the sun.  Social media and SEO are both just different ways that businesses and people can facilitate trade, but, just like TV ads, print and all the other old school options before, they are means to an end.  Hopefully that end is based on the right motives which will dictate the implementation of the means.  Look inward the next time you are about to Tweet, post, share, pin or +1.  Nothing new here, just a reminder to focus on what really matters in the long run.  Your customers (human beings on the other side of that tweet/post) will thank you for it!
